New this year! We now offer one before/after care program, Spartan Club, for all students 3K-8th grade! Spartan Club gives students a safe and fun place before and after school to keep learning, growing, and exploring their interests at no cost to families. We especially support those that need a little extra help, making sure every child has the chance to succeed. The before school program runs from 7:00 am - 8:00 am, and the after school program runs from 3:30 pm - 5:15 pm. Spartan Club is located in the school cafeteria. Transportation home after school is available for Delavan area residents.
Spartan Club offers:
- Help with homework and school projects
- Fun activities such as art, science/experiments, sports, etc.
- Programs that encourage positive choices and build character
Students are broken into groups based off of grade, 3K - 3rd grade and 4th - 8th grade. The two groups participate in the same activities but on an age appropriate level.
Here's what a tentative week at Spartan Club looks like:
- Monday: Art
- Tuesday: Science
- Wednesday: Sports/Outdoor Activities
- Thursday: Group Games & Board Games
- Friday: Friendship Friday, older students partner with younger students for a special craft or activity
If you have any questions, please feel free to email Carly Bakken, Spartan Club Coordinator.
Another aspect of Spartan Club are Family Engagement Nights. Family Engagement Nights are curated events which allow families to spend quality time together while also building character through giving back to the community, increasing skills, etc. Our first Family Engagement Night was in December with a Merry & Bright Family Service Night of fun holiday activities, hot cocoa, and making cards for local nursing homes. We hosted our second event in January with Book Tasting and a visit from Aram Public Library's own Miss Katherine! This Book Tasting event focused on childhood literacy and the wonderful resources a local public library offers to its community. Our third Family Engagement Night was our school musical, Between the Lines, Jr. with performances in April. Between the Lines, Jr. showcased our students' hard work, dedication, talents, and confidence on stage as well as the dedication and collaboration between parents, students, and staff. Our last event will focus on financial literacy. Setting families up for success at home through practical tools and knowledge regarding saving and budgeting! Please note Family Engagement Nights are only open to students who participate in Spartan Club, and there is no scheduled Spartan Club wrap around care provided on these nights because the purpose is for families to spend quality time together.
